Will the Vector be toned down on the plate Shoe - YESWe're looking forward to having these available in the future.
After listening to various comments we have toned down the large white vector making it a more subtle looking shoe although still showing the brand. Please note that in the fall we will be updating the plate shoe to this silhouette...
We have also made a few additional cosmetic and performance changes as well.
- Weight has been reduced to 3 pounds
- The large RBK on the metatarsal plate will be replaced with the MLB logo and Reebok will be on the heels

Thats awesome there changing them up a bit..but that dosnt help us for this season
Please post a picture if/when available.
I would have loved to have worn these shoes this year. However, without a removable insole, I had no choice but to go with the New Balance. Maybe next year in addition to the cosmetic appearance, they could do a removable insole. A lot of umpires wear orthotics and I think Reebok is missing a large market here.
Those of us that are tall or have size 14EEEE shoes need equipment also. Please keep us in mind when fixing size.
The shoe is comfortable and the spikes on bottom give great traction when moving out quickly. There are those of us that use these shoes for more than just baseball and the MLB logo would not fit in if doing softball only, also the white logo info needs to be toned quite a bit.
Thanks for all of your comments. As some of you have suggested, Reebok is making changes such as toning down the white logo. In addition, the MLB logo will continue to be on them. However, for other sports, such as football, there is a turf shoe now available called the NFL Quag Low II Field Shoes that we now have available with the NFL logo.
On sizing, I'll make sure to suggest offering shoes in some additional sizing the next opportunity I get. I understand this is a problem not only on the high end but the low as well.
Has anyone wore the New Balance plate shoe to compare it to the Reebok? I tried on the New Balance and the toe box is small for me and am wondering if the toe box is larger in the Reebok's? A half size up makes the rest of the shoe sloppy.
Reeboks are by far and away the best plate shoe. I don't like the new design. I don't see a problem with a little bit of white. Booking agents and conferences need to work harder at developing better umpires instead of nit-picking about a little bit of white on the shoe. The Reeboks are extremely comfortable and cool. I would say the only downfall is the fact the rubber traction on the bottom tends to wear down quicker than the old traditional plate shoes.
Places need to carry more shoes in the larger sizes! The only place right now I can find a 13D is Honigs Canada (I am Canadian). But they want 190 bucks for a pair, and don't have the 2010 styles! Plus, if they fit a half size small, that doesn't help those of us who wear 13,14,15. I'm leary on ordering a size 14.
I have both the Reebok and New Balance plate shoes. Both are comfortable but the New Balance eats shoe laces and the synthetic Reebok uppers don't shine as well as leather.
I used a product called "Leather Luster" on the toe and Metatarsal plate. This is the stuff that Marines and some police guys use on dress boots that are not patent leather. I've used it on leather and even some plastic parts of shoes. You build up several layers and have to take your time but My Reeboks glisten and clean in a snap.
